Welcome to Garden City Public Schools.
Garden City Unified School District #457 has the ninth largest enrollment in the state of Kansas, serving over 7,700 students in 18 attendance centers. We serve students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Our district is the second largest geographically in the state of Kansas, encompassing a total of 928 square miles. Our students and families are very diverse, with twenty-six different languages spoken in our district.
Garden City Public Schools outstanding teachers, staff, and administrators work together to use all of our resources to fulfill our vision of “Improving Student Outcomes as a Model District”. Our dedicated and caring employees are committed to providing every student a quality education as we prepare students to be college and career ready. We use evidence- and research-based best practices, have high academic standards and offer opportunities for a broad range of elective course work, as well as a full slate of extracurricular activities and experiences. This provides students with the greatest opportunities to become well-rounded individuals and successful citizens.
Garden City Public Schools has strong support from our community in carrying out our district’s mission of “Quality Learning – Responsible Citizens.” We strive for a culture that empowers students, staff, and families.
