KH will be hosting boys’ basketball games today beginning at 3:30pm against Liberal West.  Please plan to come and cheer for our Falcon Boys’ Basketball Teams!

Only two days left to go with our Pennies for Patients campaign, and every donation makes a difference! Currently, our school has raised $694.70. Mrs. Doull’s and Mrs. Lunzmann’s classes have taken the lead with $376.05 and Mr. Borton’s class are in second place with $173.34.  Ms. Eastman’s and Mrs. Elchuck’s classes are in third place with $145.31. Remember the top fundraising social studies team has a chance to win a prize for each student. Parents can also make donations by either sending money with their child, or by making an online donation at, to win prizes (see flyer). You can also donate by check, made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thank you in advance for any donations made that will help save lives!

There will be a Site Council Meeting, February 15th, at 12:00pm.

February 16-17th -   All students will be taking the Math Performance State Assessment.  This test will take approximately 25 minutes and will test your student’s ability to apply their math knowledge to real world problems.

There will be no school Friday, February 19th – Teacher Workday/Inservice

KH Papa John’s Day will be Monday, February 22nd.  Any orders throughout the day helps support KH.  See attachment.

February 22-23rd - 8th graders will be taking the Multidisciplinary Performance Task (MDPT).  MDPT is a performance task that gives a glimpse of a student’s critical thinking and writing in an on-demand environment.  This is a two day state assessment.  Each day will take approximately 30 minutes and will be administered in their social studies class.  On day one, students will read articles relating to a topic in science or social studies and taking notes on these.  On day two, students will provide a typed response to a prompt related to the articles while using their notes from day one.

KHBB games scheduled for February 25th at Horace Good have been moved to Monday, February 22nd.

KH will be hosting the GC middle school track meet this year at Horace Good. We are looking for parents or any volunteers that would be willing to help run events that day. The meet will be held on April 19th starting at 9:30am. Please contact Mr. Bayer at 620-805-8506 or at if you are interested.

Fellow Falcons, the submission deadline for 1st semester is past but we are still in need of Box Tops.  As a school, we managed to collect $240.00 worth of tops.  WAY TO GO!  Let’s keep those Tops coming in and make our goal of $1,000 by March 1.  If every student brought 10 Tops a month, we would collect $375.00 a month and easily reach our yearly goal.  Remember, the money earned goes directly back to you in the form of rewards and opportunities.  Keep up the great work, Falcons and collect away!

The Yearbook Class is in need of Sports/Activity pictures.  If you have some to share you can email them to
