There are receptions planned at schools around the district for staff that are retiring from the district. The receptions are to celebrate the years of dedicated service to the district.
Florence Wilson Elementary School will host a retirement reception for Randy Garrier on Thursday, May 4, from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. The reception will be held in the school’s music room, 1709 Labrador Blvd. Garrier is retiring after 24 years of dedicated service in the school district.
Jennie Wilson Elementary School will host a retirement reception for Kelli Livermore on Friday, May 5, at 4:30 p.m. The reception will be held in the school’s library, 1401 Harding Avenue. Livermore is retiring after 32 years of dedicated service in the school district.
Alta Brown Elementary School will host a reception for Rhonda Roth, Mary Jo Schultz, and Betty Hines on Wednesday, May 10, at 4:30 p.m. in the school’s library, 1110 E. Pine Street. Betty Hines has served 24 years. Mary Jo Schultz and Rhonda Roth have served 37 years of dedicated service in the district.
The Therapeutic Education Program at Garden City Achieve will host a reception for Shelley Stroup on Wednesday, May 10, from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. in Room 109, 1312 N. Seventh Street. Stroup is retiring after 37 years of dedicated service in the district.
The Educational Support Center will host a reception for Mary Karlin and William Nguyen on Thursday, May 11, from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street. Karlin has served 28 years and Nguyen has served 30 years of dedicated service in the district.
Gertrude Walker Elementary School will host a reception for Teresa Utz and Lana Pratt on Thursday, May 11, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the school’s gym, 805 W. Fair Street. Pratt has served five years and Utz has served 25 years of dedicated service in the district.
