There were a number of students that received awards during the Garden City Achieve and Virtual Academy graduation ceremony on May 6. Students were recognized for their academic success and achievements.
Ileana Fargnoli, Sierra Mouser, and Danaya McMillian were recognized with the Principal's Academic Achievement Awards.
Daniel Martinez-Perez and Sudes Muse from the Virtual Academy were recognized graduating with academic high honors.
Kaitlyn Lynch, Devawny Brown, Mansour Hamdi, Kayla Labarbera, Linzey Lynch, Isabela Martinez, Citlali Montoya, Sierra Mouser, Richy Quinones, and Arryonna Tateman, from the Virtual Academy were recognized graduating with academic honors.
Danaya Mcmillan was recognized graduating with academic honors from GC Achieve.
Valeria Alvis-Gonzalez from GC Achieve and Keely Exum from the Virtual Academy received the Military Challenge Coin.
The students that received the Dale M. Dennis Excellence in Education were Ramon Delgado-Rivera, Citlali Montoya, Alexander Ortiz, and Wendy Velazquez. Recipients of the Dale M. Dennis Excellence in Education award are identified in high schools throughout the state. The students who receive this award display citizenship, service, scholarship, and strong self-awareness that make them a quality individual.
