The next meeting of the Garden City Public Schools Board of Education will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.
The board will get an update on staffing from Dr. Joe Alcorta, Chief HR Officer. They will also continue their discussion on a possible partnership between the district and the Little Leaders of GCK.
Under new business, the board will hear from Colleen Drees, Chief Financial Officer, on the 2023-24 budget. They will vote on the election of delegate and alternate delegate for the Kansas Association of School Board’s Delegate Assembly on Saturday, November 11, 2023, as part of the KASB Annual Convention. They will have a first read and discuss Board Policy GAAF Emergency Safety Interventions; Board Policy GARID Military Leave; Board Policy IFCC Overnight Accommodations; Board Policy JH Student Activities; and Board Policy KK Disposal of District Property.
The Board will hold an executive session after the completion of all other business. The executive session will be for personnel matters of nonelected personnel and job performance because if this matter were discussed in open session it might invade the privacy of those discussed.
