Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met during a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 3, 2024. The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.
The Board approved the Kansas Association of School Boards annual membership for the 2024-25 year for $18,124.94 under unfinished business.
Under New Business, the Board approved the AVID membership and AVID Weekly Secondary supplemental materials for $15,552.20; continuation of Read 180 for $57,380.00 with a professional development component for $7,560.00; Bullseve for $30,000.00; Procurement Plan, Meal Charge Policy, and meal price changes for the 2024-25 school year; elevator drive replacement at Abe Hubert Elementary School from TKE Elevator Corporation for $29,674.24. The Board approved the replacement of the HVAC at the Transportation office from Tatro for $162,634.00.
They also approved the following items during the meeting. They include: Minutes of the May 20, 2024, regular meeting, Certified and Classified Personnel actions, and Accounts Payable.
The Board held an executive session after the completion of all other business. The executive session was for matters relating to employer-employee negotiations, whether or not in consultation with the representative or representatives of the body or agency. No action was taken at the end of the executive session.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education will be Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street.
