Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met during a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street.
The Board approved the following items during the meeting. They include: Minutes of the June 3, 2024, regular meeting, Certified and Classified Personnel actions, Accounts Payable, and resolution to transfer funds. They approved disposal of curriculum resources no longer in use in the district. They also approved a number of handbooks including: ESOL, ESOL Newcomers, Special Education, Transportation Student, Intermediate Student, Elementary Student, GC Achieve Student, SAT Team, Therapeutic Education Program, Virtual Academy Student, and Virtual Academy Adult.
The Board approved agreements between the district, Therapeutic Education Program and Compass Behavioral Health for behavior health treatment and special education services; Certified Physical Therapist Services Agreement between the district and Jessica King for the 2024-25 school year; Memorandum of Understanding between the district and Finney County Department of Corrections Jail; agreement between the district and Kansas Educational Technology Consortium, Inc. for $10,669.23; and Dual Credit Cooperative Agreement between the district and Garden City Community College for Enrollment of Secondary Students for the 2024-25 school year.
The Board held an executive session after the completion of all other business. The executive session was for matters relating to employer-employee negotiations, whether or not in consultation with the representative or representatives of the body or agency. No action was taken at the end of the executive session.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education will be Monday, July 8, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street.
