Principal Changes For The 2024-25 School Year

Garden City Public Schools has appointed a number of experienced staff members to fill key Principal and Administrative Intern positions in the district for the 2024-25 school year.

Matthew Bayer will be an Associate Principal/Athletic Director at Garden City High School. He moved from Scott City where he was the principal at the high school.

Adriana Caro will be the Principal at Jennie Wilson Elementary School. She is transferring from Horace Good Middle School where she was the Associate Principal.

Amy Cosper will be an Administrative Intern in the Freshman Academy at Garden City High School.  She is transferring from being an instructional coach at the high school.

Amber Potts will be an Administrative Intern at Horace Good Middle School. She is transferring from being a science teacher at the school.

Justin Reich will be an Administrative Intern at Florence Wilson Elementary School and Victor Ornelas Elementary School. He is transferring from Garden City High School where he was a physical education teacher.

Melissa Riggle will be an Associate Principal in the Freshman Academy at Garden City High School. She is moving from being the Teacher on Special Assignment in the Freshman Academy. 

Brittney Swank will be an Administrative Intern at Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center and Charles Stones Intermediate Center. She is transferring from Garden City High School where she was a science teacher.

The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year will be Wednesday, August 14 with a half-day orientation for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, seventh grade, ninth and tenth grades and all students new to Garden City Public Schools.  The first full day of school for Garden City Public Schools is Thursday, August 15, 2024, when all classes will be in session for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

The district is asking parents to update their contact information with the schools. The district needs this contact information so buildings can contact families on any updates as we progress through the school year.
