GCHS Students Make Honor Orchestra

Garden City High School orchestra students recently had their pieces judged for the Southwest/Northwest District Honor Orchestra. The school had 33 completed auditions and 20 students were selected.

The GCHS orchestra students will travel to Hays on Saturday, December 7 to work on their music and perform at concert that day on the Fort Hays State University campus.

The GCHS students that received spots in the orchestra include: Violin: Janet Garcia, Dakota Marcellus, Robert Smith, Alex Argueta, Allyson Blanco-Zetino, John Nguyen, Charlotte Cheney, Justin Contreras, Lexi Peters, and Devin Pelton. Viola: Amelia Cruz-Rodriguez, Breilyn Earl, Yaneli Armenta, Lilythe Knier, and Bryson Workman. Cello: Wahler Taw, Braidyn Orebaugh, and Joseph Miller. Bass: Julia Facio and Ailyn Arroyo-Granados.

The GCHS orchestra director is Summer Miller.
