Garden City High School had students audition for the Southwest Kansas District Honor Band. The students that qualified for the band will be performing at the 2024 SWKMEA Honor District Band on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Dodge City.
The GCHS students that received spots in the band are: Flute: Angel Robledo-Solorzano, and Aiden Valdivia-Hernandez. Clarinet: Ezequiel Lopez-Espino, Anabel Reyes, Ricky Bailey, Kaylin Nonhof, Kailee Uribe, and Christopher Aguayo. Alternate Clarinet: Adriana Montoya and Haylee Morales. Bass Clarinet: Seth Palacio. Tenor Saxophone: Peter Goetschius. Trumpet: Emma Banwell, Elijah Contreras. Trumpet Alternate: Juan Soto-Rocha. Trombone: Silas Lobmeyer, Joey Nguyen, Law Htoo, and Sophia Sobba. Baritone: Luis Vasquez. Baritone Alternate: Nelson Alvarado. Tuba: Brandon Peterson.
The GCHS band director is Ryan Partin and Andrew Thiesen is the assistant band director.
