Georgia Matthews Elementary School received a donation from Golden Plains Credit Union for $5,000 on Friday, December 20th. The donation was to help support the school in enhancing the learning environment in the classrooms.
The donation was for books in classrooms and instructional supplies for staff to help with teaching in the classrooms around the school. This will help the school work to meet its educational goals.
“We understand how important education is and this investment will help the students do better in school,” said Debbie Foster, Golden Plains Credit Union Vice President of Community Relations. “Donations like this will help provide students a strong education foundation and sets them up for future success.”
“This generous donation from Golden Plains Credit Union is an investment in the future of our school,” said Georgia Matthews Elementary School Principal Bryan Kott. “This contribution ensures we provide our students high-quality educational opportunities for their academic success.”
Golden Plains Credit Union is a partner in education at Georgia Matthews Elementary School. The credit union has a student-run branch at the school where students can apply for positions to work. The students have the opportunity to learn many aspects of how a financial institution operates and how to save money.
