The GCHS Drama Department received word that it has been honored with five Jester Award nominations for their production of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”. Additionally, another 11 regional honors were given to the school for the play. https://www.gckschools.com/article/2159660

The GCHS Choirs will hold a Benefit Recital to raise funds to send our incredible 38 soloists and small ensemble members to State in Topeka. All donations will go directly towards travel, lodging and dining costs for the state competition. Thank you for your support.

Plymell Elementary School partnered with Leave a Legacy Foundation to hold the Plymell Legacy Mile on Thursday at Lee Richardson Zoo. The Student Lighthouse Team worked to raise funds for the Greatest Needs Fund. The team had a goal of $1500 and they announced at the event that they raised $4500.

Garden City High School science teacher, Mark Shera Cruz, was recognized on Saturday, April 12th, at the Region 1 Kansas Teacher of the Year award ceremony in Salina, Kansas. In addition to being recognized as a nominee, he was chosen as one of three semi-finalists for the Region 1 Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Garden City Achieve Special Education teacher, Caitlin Sotelo, was also recognized as a nominee during the Region 1 Kansas Teacher of the Year award ceremony.

Garden City High School held Future Now Finance where freshmen participated in a financial literacy simulation designed to help students understand some of the challenges involved in preparing for an employable future and adulthood.
