Garden City Public Schools is wrapping up National School Breakfast Week. The Mayor of Garden City, Roy Cessna, was invited to visit Victor Ornelas Elementary School to see how they celebrated by holding a detective challenge during the week to see who stole the milk carton. A free developmental screening clinic for 3-5 year old Garden City residents will be held on Friday, March 7. It will be at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Appointments can be made by calling 620-805-7500.
The Horace Good Middle School band concert and Garden City High School band concert planned for tonight have been canceled due to the weather.
School buses will be working to get students safely home during the high winds. There will be a delay for students arriving at home. The safety of our students and staff comes first at Garden City Public Schools.
The after school programs at Alta Brown Elementary, Florence Wilson Elementary, Gertrude Walker Elementary, Jennie Wilson Elementary, Victor Ornelas Elementary, Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center and Charles Stones Intermediate Center have been cancelled due to high winds. Please pick up your student at regular dismissal. Bus students will be sent home on the bus.

Garden City High School hosted "Snacks and Apps" on Thursday in the GCHS Library. Students applied for scholarships to support their continuing education after high school. Snacks were provided during the event.
The Kenneth Henderson Middle School Music Department is out visiting and performing at schools around the district today.
