The annual Buffalo Buddies night was well attended by 2nd - 6th grade boys and girls. The students interacted with the players and coaches as they put the kids through some drills.

The GCHS Drama Department will be holding auditions for the first production of the season on Monday, August 19th from 6:00– 9:00PM and Tuesday, August 20th from 3:00– 6:00PM in the GCHS Auditorium. https://www.gckschools.com/article/1716030

Welcome back to school! Students were getting oriented at the schools across the district this morning. Students were touring their schools, figuring out their combination to their lockers, learning the names of students in their class, and getting some class instruction .



The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 14th. K- 5th grade, 7th grade, 9th & 10 grades and new students will attend a morning session. A free developmental screening clinic for 3-5 year old Garden City residents will be held on Friday, August 16. It will be at Garfield Early Childhood Center. Appointments can be made by calling 620-805-7500. https://www.gckschools.com/article/1704076



“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band returns to Garden City, KS as part of the band's Coast to Coast tour, performing a free 7:30 p.m. concert on Tuesday, October 15 at Garden City High School. For full details, please visit www.marineband.marines.mil/Tour.


USD 457 staff were back for the start of the school year at Garden City High School. It was a great event with performances from GCHS students , a great speaker, community organizations, and Food Trucks for lunch.

The Educational Support Center at Garden City Public Schools will be closed Friday, August 9th for an all staff inservice during the day. The Educational Support Center will be open with regular business hours on Monday, August 12, 2024.
